Question for uptown residents

I think it’s completely reasonable to be concerned about and look into crime statistics prior to a prospective move. This type of forethought conveys to me that you’d likely get along here just fine, as you seem to “look before you leap,” which is a trait that will help one to avoid all sorts of potential mishaps, per se.

I believe the violence and crime is incredibly sensationalized. Yes, I understand that crime statistics are up and that virtually no one wants to live somewhere with high crime rates. To put it into perspective, based on recent statistics, your likelihood of being a victim of violent crime in Minneapolis is about the same as that of dying in a motor vehicle accident, which is to say less than 1%. I would also wager that If you are at least more observant, wary, conscientious, &c, than the average person, and I believe you are, that this further decreases your chances. That being said, if you avoid motor vehicles out of fear for your life, maybe Minneapolis isn’t for you.

You’ll make the choice right for you.
