Graffiti I came across yesterday on the bike path beneath Target Field. More than anything, it makes me sad. Additional thoughts in comments. NSFW

I am a middle-aged white guy. I love Black culture (e.g. I'm in top 0.05% of Kendrick Lamar listeners according to Spotify), abhor systemic racism, rage about the glacial pace of change, and recognize my immense privilege every blessed day, especially on my worst days. Let mindful gratitude be an antitode for the things in life that make us blue.

When I read the graffiti my immediate reaction was to be unnerved, then a little angry (in a righteous sort of way), then a little scared (in an anxious sort of way) - but now I'm just sad.

Our country needs a pro-human movement. I consider myself staunchly pro-human being. If you let hate metastasize, hate will consume. Seek love. Appreciate beauty. Embrace diversity. Assume good intentions. Ask thoughtful questions. Hug a stranger. Donate socks. But please, for the love of god, stop with all the hate.
