You confuse correlation with causation. The revolution created the necessary background for annexation.

Why does Ukraine seeking economic ties with other countries while distancing itself from Russia give Russia the right to annex parts of its territory? Crimea's autonomy was not threatened. Russia was not threatened. The naval bases were not threatened.

Also I disagree with your assertion that they are propping up insurgency. Moscow has called on both sides to stop fighting many times, especially after shelling hit Russian territory.[1]

If Moscow wanted an end to the fighting. Why don't they monitor their border? How can all this equipment just get sneaked in? They have all this military capability but claim the border is too much for them to handle? They don't even do anything about the seperatists openly recruiting in Russia.

The separatists lack the resources to carry on this conflict without outside support.

Ukraine once reported 71 grad rocket attacks in a single day. Assuming each attack only consisted of one vehicle launching its payload, and was firing the lightest projectile. That's 40 launch tubes each firing 147 lb rockets. That single day the seperatist fired 417,000 lbs of rockets, In a single day. That's only rockets, its counting the vast amount of artillery shells and other munitions. It also doesn't count the vast amount of diesel fuel, spare parts, infantry supplies, body armor, and small arms. The separatists are consuming several hundred tons of war supplies every week.

Look at this paper. The notion that miners in Donetsk are financing and repairing all these vehicles is absurd.

Send in means order them to leave their bases in Crimea? Ok... I hate to quote RT as it is shitty agitprop, but here, read this about 'sending in troops'. http://rt.com/news/russian-troops-crimea-ukraine-816/[2]

Why were they UNMARKED. Putin just claimed they were 'local militia'.

Huh? Where did he do this? His soldiers have been in Crimea for almost 20 years now.

I guess you've been living under a rock. Either that or you're being disingenuous.

Yes this was wrong, but then again, so was toppling Yanukovich less than a month before his planned early election.
