Well everyone seems to be in a pleasant mood this morning. It's quite busy here too, what ! can't you sleep ?

Speaking of not sleeping, I have a question.

I make no secret of the fact that I was on anti deppresants for 4 years, untill 26 months ago when I thankfully weaned myself off them, bloody things.

I was on SSRI s ( selective seratonin re-uptake inhibitors....I think ) Anyway, I don't think they were actually right for me, but not wanting to feel awfully depressed trying to find the right pill I stuck with them.

The damned things made me terribly sleepy when I was on them.

OK so in the last few months, maybe 6 now, after having a large amount of alcohol, I seem to be waking up rather early. As in, yesterday I drank from 2 pm till 2 am ( yeah OK I might have a problem ) but once again I awoke at 8 am, now that's not up at the crack of dawn I know, but that's less than 6 hours sleep, less than I get in the week.

Being an older tradesman I tend to like a lie-in on the weekend, but recently it's just not happening.

So my question is, has anybody else here had a similar experience, is it because the SSRIs are finally out of my body ?

Maybe we just go through different phases of life, I don't know, any thoughts or knowledge on this subject will be appreciated.

On another note, I was approached by a lady from the local last night, I am no spring chicken, but every time I tell someone my age I get told that I appear about 10 years younger, which is pleasant, but I am still old so that doesn't matter. Anyway, my girlfriends have alway been a few years younger than me, which is rather common, but this lady is 7 years older than me.

I have chatted to her often, always paying her a compliment cause that's what I do, and in a non creepy way ( well, the odd person may think I'm being a creep but that's their problem cause I know I'm not ), so she came over and quickly asked me to go round for dinner Sunday.

I was taken aback, totally not expecting that. Anyway we hung out up at the Karaoke and then afterwards, little bit of arms around one another, little peck on the lips as she left and that's where it ended.

Anyway, as some of you may know I am very happily single, no complications in my world, 2 n a half years now, no problem.

So this is new territory for me, a lady cracking on to me, older too. Oh how life brings odd things to the plate on occasion.
