The rape of Berlin

And I stand by this. You have war, you get rape.

That's a completely meaningless statement purposely taken out of context to add weight to it that it doesn't deserve. Let me show you:

You have humans, you get rape. The UK hasn't been invaded for a thousand years, does that mean there is no rape there? Do you have any evidence that rape committed by Western troops in Iraq & Afghanistan is common, or abnormally frequent? Or are you just assuming that if one American Soldier rapes one woman then war = mass rape?

There may be less in Iraq by NATO troops in 2003 compared to Allied forces (including American, French, British Australian, ...) in Germany in 1945. That doesn't make it not exist.

Which is why I'm asking you for the evidence that per capita, our troops are committing mass rape in the two countries you mention in your original comment.

That doesn't make it not exist. We have reports of mass rape in other contemporary conflicts. In Europe in Bosnia in the 90s and today in the DRC, for example.

You didn't mention those, you said:

If you think Afghanistan or Iraq are without rape, because us "good guys" are better, you are pretty naif.

Do you really think an Afghan woman will report rape? Do you think an Iraqi girl would report a rape? Would you care to explain this?

Sure, I think the point you're missing is that if our troops engage in anything that could be construed as illegal then they'll be hung out to dry. There is no culture of protection from breaking the law in war, to give you an example our RoE and PID were so strict that our people were put in great danger and injured or killed as a direct result of being careful to a fault because of our orders - orders that everyone on our side operated under.

The running joke is that the Police in the US have a far looser set of Rules of Engagement and Positive Identification than American troops in the middle of a Middle Eastern warzone.

An entire Iraqi village full of people sued the British Government recently, claiming torture and a massacre was carried out by two British Army Regiments there. After a deep public inquiry costing £31m, it was discovered that these claims were entirely baseless and no evidence existed to back up their accusations.

It really shows your lack of knowledge and experience to just throw things out you have no proof of, then make some empty statement about "Well there wouldn't be any evidence after 10+yrs of conflict just because!".

I wasn't raped, I didn't see rape, therefore rape doesn't exist.

You've never been to these countries. You see rape in your imagination, therefore mass rape is everywhere.

Grow up.
