I really wish Rogan would do more podcasts with Randall Carlson as a solo guest

First and foremost, he doesn't have any college degrees. That will prevent you from publishing in any journal for the most part.

No it doesn't. That's not a requirement. It helps though because you're around people who are published and they can help familiarize you with the process.

What journals have are strict editorial standards for publishing. Your research has to be a first disclosure not published anywhere else. Your writing has to be concise without unnecessary verbiage. You should be knowledgeable of previous work on your topic and reference it throughout your paper.

Definitely the mystical stuff would not fly without proper citation and the editors would read it as mumbo-jumbo and quickly throw it away because they have many more submissions from other authors to read through.

So Carlson has some stumbling blocks to publishing. But if he has new research or can synthesize known facts in a novel way, he could definitely be published as long as he avoids those stumbling blocks and meets the standards of his target journal.
