Ru Paul Not Amused By Surge of Bachelorette Parties Happening At Gay Clubs

I never had women at a bachelorette party treat me like their token gay self-esteem booster or as a novelty like this article describes. But that's also because I am ridiculously blunt and if girls ask me if they look fat I always say yes to mess with them. So like most people I don't fit a mold, though I guess I'm more femme? You can tell that I'm gay but I don't say yaaasss slay queen hunty blablabla whatever. When I've been to gay clubs and bachelorette parties have been there they've more kept to themselves or been super friendly, both scenarios super drunk but not treating people like RuPaul describes. Whenever I see them I always think it's more they're looking for a place to get wasted and dance but feel mostly safe doing so, barring the occasional straight dude. I haven't really experienced them treating gay dudes as entertainment, but I can totally see them doing that. It's incredibly annoying for people to try to relate to you through only one characteristic.

I am tipsy whilst writing this so I'm rambling. But sometimes media and TV shows mostly straight people watch have a very one sided view of gay people, all gays are super femme and all lesbians are butch. Though that's changing in new shows like orange is the new black. But most of the time when you see a gay guy on TV, that's their focus. That they're gay. Not that they're like a Formula One racer or the top surgeon at their hospital who came up with a new medical procedure. They're gay with a few other traits, but don't forget they're gay. It just reinforces a stereotype, a lot of the time
