As a person who lacks empathy this is spot on. I want to feel and show compassion like everyone but it’s extremely difficult. Mira is possibly battling narcissism though because it’s always about her. Her money, this possession, that possession, and her success. Mira latches on to Jonathan because he doesn’t care about what she has; she knows that his love is pure.

She knew his journals would make her sad but she begged to hear because she wanted to feel something. To someone emotionally inept any feelings are wanted because it makes you human.

That said, she’s a manipulative, egocentric, and sad person who needs therapy.
