This season has been a masterpiece.

Comparing James Joyce to TD S2... that's a little bit of a stretch.

It isn't a stretch at all. 10 hour show packs a ton of metaphors in it. I know people reject this, because they want pornography. Not depth.

This conversation will go nowhere if youc an't understand why Finnegan's Wake was rejected by it's own audience. And how the 20 hours of both seasons of TD work together.

There has never been a myth in history that has been properly understood by the masses. If you can't understand accept the very meaning of "shallow understanding" of a story - then it's just an exercise in you talking about the first 3 layers of something that has 20 layers. I can't "prove to you" these layers exist in short fast fashions!

Just because you add multiple characters to a show doesn't make it more interesting.

Typical response. Exactly the kind of thing I've read hundreds of times. You really aren't saying anything that proves a lack of depth. All you are saying is: Other shows don't do it this way. Which actually makes the case that this show has something different going on!

By the end of the first episode of the 2nd season you just end up asking yourself "what?" Who is who? Who is this dead guy?

You really don't get it. You say "Comparing James Joyce to TD S2... that's a little bit of a stretch" - Investing ONE HOUR but you know what people said after only a few chapters were printed! THE SAME THING happened to James Joyce. It's what happens to Myth stories.

How many times do you have to read FW to understand it? The Bible? Answer those questions and you might start to actually have a real conversation that doesn't just involve you dismissing that Life and Stories can be far more complicated than the Ego recognizes.

If you spent only 20 hours watching, reading, and thinking about the show - then of course all this will make no sense. Start getting to 300 or 500 hours (including other deep Myth stories) and we can talk.

Let me try and put it another way: What TV show would you offer up as an example of matching FW's depth? So you can show me how "wrong" I am by offering up TD as an example?
