He also has that Chris Rock voice, which makes it really difficult to disconnect the role of Loy Cannon from everything Chris Rock has done in the past. It's also not a very defining role in general - being limited to only 11 episodes doesn't help with that - and he has incredibly stiff competition in this category with David Thewlis and Billy Bob Thornton, who both had more thankful jobs to do.

Bryan Cranston is Walter White now, and not Hal from Malcolm in the Middle or anything else. And that's who you see when you see the actor, the connection is now firmly made, he owns the role. I don't think of Loy Cannon when I see Chris Rock, I think of the Chris Rock routine.
