Seattle restaurants recovering slower than rest of US

My guess is many people learned to cook during pandemic and figured out how expensive it is to eat out. With what you pay for one meal at moderately priced restaurant, you can feed yourself for 3-4 days.

Also, we're living in a city with high tech companies, yet, restaurant technology is 50 years behind. In most places you can't pre-order meals, can't pay for your dinner without handing your credit card to staff. Scan QR code to see a menu is the only improvement I've seen in last 20 years. We can do better. I don't have to spend whole hour at a restaurant and go through all the rituals of being seated, handed menu, receiving an order, paying with credit card. All those could be eliminated.
