My frustration is primarily in the fact that he could have deleted it into my trade window instead and I'd have gained about 20% happiness for a few weeks instead of deleting it for no benefit. (Don't even start with the insults I will flat out report anyone who does.)
Yeah see that's the thing- I figured as much. The people who complain the loudest in this type of situation about someone ruining something expensive rather than giving it to another player, is a player who wants it. Also, bit hostile mate.

Honestly, it really doesn't. I'd wish I had the money, but even if they didn't burn it, they'd spend it on themselves instead, which is the exact same thing, except they don't want to indulge themselves.
It's the exact same thing, the only reason the deleting/burning/etc is different, is because you want them to give it to you instead. They could vaal it, and you'd be less upset because they bricked it and it was just chance. They could put it in a stash tab and forget about it, and you'd be okay with that because he still owns that money, it has potential. Sure, they could give it to charity, but that isn't gonna affect me, and if they already are burning that much money, they likely have given to charity already.
I'm not upset that I didn't get a handout. I don't actually care.

Peoples money... They either a) earned it, or b) had it given to them. If it's a), they can do whatever the hell they want with it, they got it, they grinded, they farmed, they did what they needed to do. If it's b), blame the fucking A guy for delivering it to the B guy, because they fuckin did it.
So, at the end of the day, it's a video game and you're too concerned with other peoples actions with their own damned possessions. You have zero right to say what they should do while playing the game when it doesn't affect other players, and don't pull the "other players could be happy" bullshit, it doesn't count, that's a fucking gamble.
