The problem I have with gun control is that a lot, if not most, of the people who commit murders, regardless of how, have some sort of mental issue at the time. And gun control isn't going to fix that. The arguments over gun control may even be drawing attention and help away from the real, underlying problems.

For example, something like 40% of the suicides in the USA are with guns. Taking away all the guns would not result in all of those people living. Some of them, sure. But taking away the guns is not going to fix the reason any of them fell suicide is the way out. Its like the gun control people don't care about the problems people are having, as long as guns are not involved.
