[Serious] Do you know anyone who has disappeared without a trace? What happened?

I had a cousin that was roughly the same age as me and he disappeared when he was 2 years old. His mother and family were questioned by police and FBI and was never charged because he was never found and a body located. There were rumors that during a construction project near their home his body was dropped in a bridge pylon that was just a form and had not had concrete poured in the form yet. Before it could be checked out the job progressed and the pylon forms were filled with concrete. Assuming the only way to inspect would be destructive in nature and the project was practically completed at this point. Since there was no evidence actually located and the family could give no details that could assist the investigation it eventually subsided years later. Again just a rumor but my Aunt or his mother was said to have owed some really questionable characters money (mafia) that they took her child (blue eyed, blond hair) as payment to be sold on the black market to a family looking to adopt outside the normal realms adoption process to recoup there debt from her. Now to this day it is still an unsolved mystery and no one in the family really knows what happened. The Aunt still swears by her innocence and that she does not know what happened. She asked me at one point if I thought that she was responsible or could even be capable of such a terrible act referring to his disappearance. I simply said that any human anywhere given the right circumstances could do unspeakable acts to their fellow man but that I had no evidence one way or the other since again I was 2 when he disappeared. Most of the details are pieced together over the years from family members. The reason I had a bit of interest was because we were both male, both 2 years old, and apparently we looked very similar since our mothers were sisters. Many times from that side of my family people have told me that I remind them of him. Off topic but years later she had a truck driving husband (married 6 times) that was murdered on the road a few hours from home and she stood to gain a substantial insurance policy upon his death. Pretty creepy, and all seems a bit surreal, always left a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. Since then I now live thousands of miles from my home town after education and new job have pulled me away but I always wanted a way to get out of that one horse town.
