The job was to write fiction... they did a terrible job with the last 2 season... that's what's upsetting. Its not even really the endings, its how we got there, its d&d refusing more episodes and seasons when offered and then giving us this. Its euron in the book compared to the show. Its the long night lasting half a night. It's just the obvious lack of effort and motivation and love of the craft that WAS THERE in earlier seasons. We know d&d can write, ayra and tywin, jon and ser allister, these were great non books dialogues. It's just so obvious they didnt care about this season and just wanted to get it over with. Does anyone really want d&d to die? No. Are we furious for them for squandering what should have been some of the greatest moments of media in our lives ? Yes. It's just "fiction" sure, but so are many things dear to peoples hearts.
