Shit day at work, go to a bar...

Not sure why you're being downvoted. I suspect grumps who haven't heard of such things, or are working with an imagined, overly critical or narrow definition of "degree".

I also earned a sort of computer degree. It was a year-long program that basically followed the CompTIA A+ certification. It was hosted at a vocational school near my high school. This was back in 2003-2004. Took it as basically a giant elective in my Junior year. Every other day we'd get on a bus and hang out at a computer lab all day. It was fantastic.

The curriculum was basic hardware, basic networking, and... I want to say Windows 95, but it might've been 98 or SE. I don't remember. Got the job done, though. Very hands on. Taking computers apart, setting up actual physical token ring coax networks and crimping Cat5, configuring server and client software to talk to each other. Good times.

I'd have to dig it out of storage, but I did earn a diploma of some bullshit sort from the vocational school. Decent resume padding, if nothing else. Completing the program also got us a voucher to take the actual A+ exams for free, which I passed. That was back when it was a lifetime cert, too. Helped me get every job I've actually cared about... and a few I hated. Not a bad deal at all.
