Should we rebrand the website of the company we acquired or start over?

Usually b2b marketing teams are low on resource so unless there’s a huge reason to run two websites/ 2 brands I’d avoid it.

If the buyers are the same and the products sit nicely together, bring them together.

In my experience with acquisitions (in Plc I had to bring 200 brands together into one £300k website and let me tell you, every business division lead had a big reason why they “needed” to keep their website live)

Make life easier for everyone by pulling them together, as I said UNLESS there is. A genuine strategic reason why this isn’t a good idea.

I recommend hiring a very good strategic partner to conduct a website UX audit across the two sites and provide some solid advice about how to move forward. Avoid design companies and creative companies on this as they will only really be geared to want to create you a new “nice looking” brand and do one website for both, they won’t dig into the strategy.

Hope it’s helpful.
