Skye [SPOILERS]

I think she's due for a bit of a mental breakdown.

I think she's due for a big one. Even though she had several breakdowns recently (1. when Fitz calls her inhuman and 2. when she shot herself to quell her powers), it all revolved around her new ability and not actual, like, character driven angst. Skye used to be a hacktivist who fangirled over supernatural powers; she was the first person to name Deathlok a hero in S1E1. She should be the last person to view her new (badass) powers as a disability. Yet as soon as Fitz mentions the word "inhuman," her head felt ready to explode. What happened to her, and why haven't we seen better exposition of it?

I recall that Skye was shot by Quinn, betrayed by Miles and Ward, had to point a gun at her mother figure (Agent May when Fitz found the extra phone line), and she witnessed Trip literally crumble to nothing within the first season and a half. I was expecting Skye to have said to Coulson, "If I didn't go down there, Trip would still be alive." Instead we got a flat "If I didn't go down there, you could have blown the place" and it's weird. Why isn't Skye the biggest mourner of Trip's death?

So either Skye never really cared about Trip and she's an awful person, or his death became a major turning point for her character and it has pushed her to question why she stayed with her SHIELD family in the first place after realizing she was doing more harm than good, etc.

Not really convinced of my own character interp, ie. when was the last time Skye even mentioned Trip, or reacted when his name was mentioned post-mortem?, but if the writers are as good as people say they are, a moment of proper exposition is coming for Skye, and I hope it's in the form of another epic mental breakdown.
