I want some music with deep lyrics that makes me think.

I never heard of Kl0ve. I like a lot of contemporary Christian singers and groups, but cannot remember all of their names. The only ones that spring to mind as my favorites, in part because of their lyrics, would be Toby Mac and Hollyn, but there are many more. I find that their lyrics reinforce a wholesome outlook on life. The best attribute of Christian rock is wholesome lyrics that are full of hope, joy and worship. We program our minds by listening to music, and why not choose wholesome programming?

However, if you are reading Scripture closely, the King James Version, then I think that contemporary music may not really be a good match for the text, and you might actually find a better suit with classical music. Brahms in particular, but almost all of the classical composers worked in Christian themes into their compositions. I would have a difficult time identifying a classical composer that did not have Christian themes (maybe Chopin?).

I was listening to a preacher on the radio arguing against all Christian rock, especially against its being used in the church, because of its beat, which he said instigates sexuality, but I think he seemed extreme in that viewpoint. People have all kinds of opinions on things however. Just experiment and find out what works best for you in your situation, I do not subscribe to one size fits all. If Christian rock brings more people to God, which it does, then I do not see what the problem with it could be.
