Joss signed a 100 million dollar deal with Disney.
In doing so, he is not capable of redoing Firefly. He WILL be working on television shows (as many as 5), but he wont be the head of any of them.
If he wants to redo Firefly and ABC will let him, we will have a new Firefly....but it wont be "Joss' Baby".
The fact is, Joss has told fans NOT to contribute to crowd funding efforts and he has never made an effort HIMSELF to get Firefly going again.
The "Actors busy with other roles" excuse was tired YEARS ago. I just helped crowd fund "Con Man" which Allen and Nathan were a part of. If Nathan (the busiest of the alums) can find that kind of time, and every one of the ex actors has expressed interest in at least doing another project (maybe not a show, but even Gina said she'd do another movie).
Can you* name* the projects the others are doing that would keep them from doing a Firefly cameo? That is what we are talking about throughout most of this thread....a cameo or two from the original actors. Most of my comments include the option of opening up the 'verse and flushing out other characters within it.
Im sure all of the busy actors could AND would show up for the cameo appearances....but let's get really real....most would be ecstatic to have a project like that land in their laps.
It isnt the fanbase holding it back...it isnt the busy careers of the ex cast....we all know that studios LOVE sequels/reboots more than ANYTHING.
Who else do you think is keeping this internationally known franchise from being embraced by its million-strong rabid fanbase?
