Some thoughts on the differences between what's popular on this sub/community and what's popular in Korea

I swore I wouldn't come back and read this hot mess of a thread but I think you put it really eloquently. Sharkus comes off really rude, condescending, and defensive and that sentiment was thoroughly repeated in the PMs that I got about this matter.

You stated that "Koreans don't fetishize products as much we in the West think they do." But people repeatedly used the word "fetishization" when talking about utilizing K products and wondering what Korean people are using. For the record it is NOT fetishization for people to wonder what people are using when the claims are that these products are being used by their intended audience and are not. JC I hate how this argument was twisted into a race thing to suit the OP's needs.

Frankly I think there is a lack of transparency here that strikes me as odd as I'm pretty sure that there are some sponsorship deals with popular brands/distributors and the mods/bloggers. I don't want to say anything further than to claim that this is my own suspicion but again this was a sentiment repeated by others in PMs.

This really has a strong whiff of what happened with SkincareAddiction and the defensive, clumsily made arguments in this thread really strike me as even odder. So forgive me if I start questioning certain circle jerked brands which literally have no presence in their native state. Additionally this attempt to witch hunt people who are starting conversations that the OP may not want others to have are shutting down the community in ways that i don't think is healthy. I have had it mentioned in PMs that people don't feel comfortable writing here as they are quick to be harped at by others, especially when it comes to AB's HGs.

Also, I agree with the face masks. I don't really see people making a big deal of it and most prefer sleeping packs anyway. But here people by them in packs of 50! You know they go stale right?
