The free movie wasn't enough, everything had to be her way..... Previews are how they make money get over it[rant]

Here's what I posted (sorry OP, I genuinely don't mean to be rude, just looking for feedback)

This sub tends to focus on the idea that we, the child free, are making a conscious choice to not procreate. I have absolutely no issue with this, that's why I subscribe. I love being selfish, I do not think "selfish" is a bad word. I love spending my time doing whatever the hell I want to do, and I love not having kids.

The thing I read all the time that rubs sand in my tenders is that it's assumed that everyone has that choice. They don't. Even here, where I live, in the US. When whole communities are brainwashed, kept isolated, and restricted from any advanced form of communication, their community is everything they know. They're convinced being married and having children is the only way to make god happy... even if it doesn't make them happy. This is just one example. There are plenty of other awful scenarios that need a spotlight.

It's not always a choice. I just want to remind everyone that my choice is a privilege and I do not take it for granted. There's no reason to tout my privilege as if the happy accident of my birth place gives me the devine right to do so.

And another thing, I deal with enough judgement from people that think my choices are less worthy of respect than theirs. Why is it okay for us to do the same thing to people that want to have kids?

Knock it off.
