Treated differently at the gym because you're female?

I'm a group fitness instructor and personal trainer, and I get soooo many guys who think I'm a yoga instructor. Now, there's nothing wrong with being a yoga instructor! However, it is super frustrating when a guy sees me setting up a circuit class with kettlebells, agility ladders, and whatnot and asks, "Are you teaching a yoga class?" Like, bro, what kind of yoga uses kettlebells?

I also feels like guys tend to push boundaries more than women. I teach beginner and intermediate kettlebell classes. Without fail, it's the guys who think they can jump right into the intermediate class. No.

I also resent the incredulity some men have when they learn what I do or take a class. Receiving a compliment on my teaching is great. Someone saying, "Wow, you did a great job, like really great. I can't believe it! Great class, I really got a good workout! I can't believe you did such a good job!" It's like a mind blowing experience for them to be taught well by a woman. For what it's worth, most of these issues are with young men. Dudes in their forties and older tend to be way less judgy, at least in my current environment.
