Why some young Nova Scotians say they can't afford to stay in the province

The real cost for Tiffany is choosing to be a young mother without having the stability to raise a child. It's completely unfair, but single parenthood and poverty often goes hand in hand. Whn you don't have the resources to raise a child, snd the relationship falls apart, things are hard. Also, this young woman in her 30s with a child to support can't afford to be a full time university student studying degree that's not going to make much money. She's needs to find a trade, join the military, or find a better career, while she still is young, and had some options. In a decade she will be in a worse position, facing midlife still struggling.i say this as a child who was raised in this situation, and poverty will sadly follow her through old age. There's always that hope that a knight and shinning around will show up, but alot of times it doesn't happen.
