[Spoilers All] Why the emphasis on old, ugly skin textures in the character creator?

Yup. I gotta say, DAI is stunning. The detail in the environments (especially the rolling waves on the Storm Coast and Frostback Basin and the beautiful trees), the architecture, everything is great. Beautiful artwork. The character models, though, need serious help. Even with mods it is difficult to create a pretty quizzie, though it is easier to make an attractive male in my opinion. The presets that you start out with are bizarre. The foreheads bulge, the cheekbones are weird and unnatural looking, the eyes are usually too high up and too far apart. You really have to work with it to make something decent. The hair ... yikes. Couldn't they have at least given us some nice shorter updos like Morrigan's? The buzz cuts, 80s hair, and Skrillex hair all make me cringe. They don't fit the setting. They not only look awful but they look too modern. There is a beautiful hair mod for long hair for Qunari that barely clips at all, so it's not like it was impossible for them to do. The topic of hair has been done to death though. I agree with the skin textures. It's the same as the eyebrows. There are so eyebrows that are so massively bushy, like bushier than Eugene Levy's, that people would only use them on a joke character. It's a waste. Of course, it's important to have these things so you /can/ make a unique character, but there shouldn't be more shaved styles, more bushy brows, and more wrinkled skins than moslee conventional options most people will choose (just look at screenshots of people's characters. They all end up using the same 1-2 hairstyles). Hopefully in the next game they make some nice presets based on real human proportions and have better looking eyebrows, skins, and hair. Everyone wants their hero to look nice. :)
