(Spoilers all) Night's King/Queen theory

Well, according to her chapter she is convinced of Stannis' legitimacy as Azor Ahai. I don't think she is the Night's Queen, I think she truly is devoted to her "Lord of Light" quest, however you did bring up an interesting point.

Maybe we are supposed to see the Night's Queen's similarly to Melisandre in the future books. Maybe this is supposed to show that the individuals the Ice and Fire sides of the conflict aren't really different from each other, they can be equally fallible. Maybe both tried to find a savior but identified the wrong person. Or maybe Stannis will become something like the Night's King but for R'hllor. We won't know for some time.

That's not to say Melisandre doesn't use glamour on herself. Most likely she does, but to hide her age and slave tattoos. The show actors might have spoiled her age, she is supposedly 400 years old, so she might have been alive during the Doom of Valyria. She does have some comments on her chapter about her age, but they are not so precise with dates.

Melisandre had practiced her art for years beyond count, and she had paid the price.

Back on the Night's King story, I've always been intrigued on why everything about him was erased like that. It seems like they were trying to hide an old shame, but for who? The Starks? The Night's Watch? King Joramun? What were they trying to hide by erasing everything about him? You'd think they save more information to know how to deal with the Others if they came back again, but no just erase everything and let your descendants to figure it out by themselves all over again.
