Yeah no shit. This is common knowledge at this point. But what you wrote is wrong. If you want to know why the ending makes no sense, read this;

First things first. Mikami disobeying his as he calls him God. Why would a fanatical worshiper like Mikami disobey his God? Why would he hide the death note which he thinks is Gods manifested power in a shitty bank with low security?

Secondly, Near. God do I hate this piece of shit "houlier than thou" character. He achieves nothing besides sitting on his lazy ass and smugly telling everyone how much of a genius he is.

Yet he's so fucking retarded that if it weren't for Mello, he would be absolutely NOWHERE. And don't get me started on how much of a fucking hypocrite he is. He judges Kira for murdering people, yet he was perfectly willing to overlook Mellos crimes someone who killed more innocent people in one minute than Light ever did in his lifetime as Kira, and was perfectly happy with allowing Mikami killing 100s of criminals everyday just so he can get proof.

In the end the reason the ending was so bad, was because the author made Light way too smart to be beaten by some passive, retarded, idiotic piece of utter shit like Near is one.

If the writer would've wanted a good ending with Light loosing, he should've made Mello the winner as he was the one who achieved everything on his own unlike that turd Near who got everyone shoving up everything up his retarded ass.
