'I stand with Whitmer': Armed medic counter-protests anti-lockdown rally in Michigan

Yes, but morality is subjective and often in the eye of the beholder, so just because you don’t buy into it, doesn’t take it off the table for others and that is what I think is part of the larger problem in play here. What happens when EVERYONE thinks they’re the ones being MORE moral? That’s the root of religious fervor and once that takes root, any amount of evil becomes justifiable because it’s the ‘other side’ that’s evil.

It’s super easy to dismiss that by saying “But my side IS right” and it might well be, but that’s not the point. The other side still believe what they believe and with equal fervor and this all keeps escalating. Eventually, we’re going to have come to terms with the fact the left/right aren’t going away and we need to be more respectful of each other (especially given in this sub, we’re literally neighbors.)

I know I’ll get buried in downvotes because I’m not jumping on either bandwagon (and that’s fine) but the sickness in our society right now isn’t called “Covid” it’s called tribalism and it will end up in people getting killed if we don’t pump the brakes and calm down a bit.
