Story-wise, do you think there could be a satisfying end to the series?

I want that. I really want that.

However, the day Chief's story completely and officially ends is the day a long era of Halo ends forever. I can't see myself staying after that - I would need a massive recovery before I could ever come back to Halo (for the record, I will forever remain completely loyal to Halo, as it is my childhood game forever and beyond even after I die, so it's not like I would abandon Halo).

I think Halo should continue for many years to come, as long as 343 Industries makes it a promise that they sustain it and maintain its quality it deserves. Someone brought up Star Wars - it's clearly been doing well, with the last film being a major success, and the new characters and story are really intriguing. Halo can keep growing, just like Star Wars. If it were me, I would put a definitive conclusion to the story, and make it as perfect as possible, but it isn't my call, so they should keep the train going. In fact, I want that next 4 year old to fall in love with Halo (like me) so they can live an amazing childhood playing this amazing franchise. I grew up alongside this franchise with each game coming out till now, so I literally have a virtual best friend. I want this franchise to keep going. Also, once Chief exits, I want Locke to take his place. I may not be emotionally invested in him, but he's a worthy successor in my eyes.
