It's ironic you find the Banished a copy paste of the Covenant and praise the Storm Covenant and the other comic Covenant Remnants which were copy pastes of the actual Covenant. These other Remnants didn't even have a name (Storm Covenant isn't a real name btw, it's fan made), and none of them had their own distinguised aesthetic other than redesigned Bungie designs. Still the same color, same goals, same stories, same leaders

The Banished meanwhile not only have their own faction name, but also a different aesthetic that isn't just trying to emulate the Bungie one, different goals, different leaders, different types of story. And while indeed Infinite has attempted to reframe the Banished within the game as just zealots, they're still more unique by all other virtues, while the other Remnants really aren't. So I fail to see why the Banished are a problem and Jul's Covenant, Sali's Covenant, Servants and the countless of other generic Covenant Remnants from everywhere were.
