I'm definitely not a republican and the current MAGA bs is insane. . .

I also think that it is unfair for the 'left' to claim innocence in the decline of rural and manufacturing areas in the US. Clinton gave one of the biggest handouts to corporate interests with NAFTA. This sped up the decline of American manufacturing.

As others have pointed out. This isn't a simple problem and isn't going to get fixed fast.

Bashing disenfranchised people that turned away from the democratic party because it screwed them over isn't exactly fair. At this point, the education systems in many of these areas are also so depressed that it will take federal intervention to turn them around. Neither the republicans or democrats want these people educated. So the schools will continue to fail and by extension so will these communities.
