So I asked investing why they banned me for posting the word GME in response to a question. They said “brigading” I asked how they could infer intent from one word. Their response:

I once got permanently banned from the Formula 1 subreddit for calling someone sexist, after lurking there for a couple of years. The guy said Claire Williams couldn't run a successful F1 team only because she's a woman. The mod's reason for my ban is that I had never written or posted anything positive or relevant to the subreddit before, so I was obviously just trying to spread hate and be rude to everyone. When I asked him to read the comment I had responded to for context I got blocked. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a mod would ban me for calling Hitler racist since that would be "hateful". I basically got perma-banned for being a lurker and having a good moral compass.

Reddit sucks (not only due to lazy, power tripping mods,) so I only use the app to access this community. I used to go on the website a lot in my high school years and I'm sad to see what has become of it in recent years.
