Swahili coast african /asian ancestry study

Is this really surprising considering South Asian DNA is already found in the nearby Somali gene pool who had trade dealings with Iran, India, Sri Lanka, China, and Indonesia going back almost 2,000 years? It would make sense that merchants would travel to other places off the coast.

I’m sure there’s a lot of fascinating genetic history in Africa that we could’ve known about already if most anthropologists and geneticists cared to put an ounce of effort into studying anyone on the continent besides the heavy Eurasian groups in the north and northeast and basically act like West, Central, and Southern/Southern East Africans didn’t enter the universe until slave trades started.
