Tasigur Help- How to know when reactive is too reactive

Hey man, thank you for all of the time you put into this post. It's definitely given me a lot to think about and confirms my suspicious that my deck is highly suboptimal, despite all of the time I put into it.

The first point about playing Tasigur ASAP but not using his ability- you just mean not prioritizing the ability, right? If I don't cast the counter then still use it, right? Should I not be casting him until I have the mana for him and the activation?

Fetches- yeah, I do plan to run more fetches. Misty Rainforest and Verdant Catacombs are very high on my list, but I worry about them getting reprinted. Not sure how many Strip Mine type effects to run but I was going to cut Tech Edge once I got one. I prefer colored mana.

For cards like Ponder and Preordain, I feel like what I really want is mana ramp, but I could be playing the deck wrong. A T1 Preordain can be nice, but I guess it's all about getting Tasigur out early, huh?

The infinite mana was added very recently, so we'll see. Do you like Palinchron a lot over the alternatives like Peregrine Drake? Is it worth running more over the other? I mainly have Palinchron because he can bounce himself but i'm curious.

4CMC Removal- I couldn't agree with you more. Aethersnatch is cute but doesn't need to be in this deck, and I'm all in favor of more and cheaper removal. Krosan Grip and Deglamer all the way. What are your thoughts on Pongify and Rapid Hybridization? I'd like to add them back in as cheap removal but in this deck I didn't like giving blockers.

Counterspells- Trying to figure out where you get 3 castable counterspells from. It looks like 4 to me-Arcane Denial, Counterspell, Forbid, and Cryptic Command. Plus Pact and Mystic Confluence as non-castable?. Is there a different criteria you're using? Do you not like any of these, or just recommend more? I like some of the 3 mana exile spell instead counterspells, but I do like Negate as well. Swan Song has always felt like a miss for me as the biggest threats I run into are usually creatures (but this makes me think you're ok with Pongify).

Do you like Savage Summoning more than Flash because of the uncounterable clause? If so, I get it, but just making sure. I like that playing Flash doesn't require extra mana but one G isn't too bad.

Reito Lantern is a new addition, and is meant to be more of a life saver. If I make the deck a bit better I don't need to run it, but I was excited to see it in action. Wouldn't mind turning this into one of the specific graveyard recursion spells that /u/dfelipebrom said.

How does Beast Within turn into a wincon with infinite mana?

Frost Titan was in there as a threat that also worked towards control. I've heard good things about him in a control build and wanted to give him a try, but haven't seen him in play yet. What would you rather do here?

Anvil is there to also help thin my deck and put stuff in my yrd to Tasigur. I usually like to play some kind of Howling Mine effect to draw cards and generate goodwill in the playgroup, and Anvil does that while also furthering my graveyard goals. I'll consider it as an option, especially for Preordain if I decide to go that route.

And finally, the Stinkweed Imp. I don't have enough creatures in my build for reanimate to really be useful, but I do like casting Tasigur a lot. One reason I really like the imp is as a blocker when I really need one. No matter how many times he dies, if an opponent has a hexproof or shround threat with flying- which I see often- I have something to protect myself with. I also forgot to mention I replaced Kiora with Baleful Strix, and was shocked nobody suggested cutting her first.

Thank you again for the input, and if you have time I'd like to know what you think about my points. I definitely want to make it better so if I have to swallow some hard truths I'll do it.
