My resolution this year was to start riding ATGATT... after three weeks of grinding and bargain hunting, I’ve evolved into a Power Ranger!

Alright, I like to think of myself as a decent, overall nice guy, but it’s 4am, I’ve got food poisoning, and this is going to be fun.

‘Poser’ implies that I’m trying to be something that I’m not for posterity’s sake. I ride supersport motorcycles, and ride them hard. Accordingly, I need protection that’s going to keep me safe in the event of a crash. The gear that I purchased is all top-of-the line, with the jacket and pants being track-approved, and the boots being the same ones that our lord and savior Valentino Rossi uses in his professional races. It’s safe.

With respect to the helmet being “loud”, I assume you mean bright and colorful. This was intentional. I think the helmet, like the rest of my gear, looks cool as shit. I’m not wearing it to impress you, I’m wearing it because I think it looks great on me. Nobody buys a gold visor because its safer than a standard or smoked one. To that same point, the helmet sticks out from the rest of my otherwise muted attire, making me more visible to other drivers.

Every brand produces lemons from time to time, but Dainese, Alpinestars, and the other major brands are at the top of the gear market for a reason. Their products are reliable, comfortable, attractive, and safe. Anecdotal evidence of one random person’s helmet failure does not reflect the entirety of a brand’s general build quality. Why would people spend their money on products if they knew those products weren’t built well?

Now, here’s the kicker. For a guy so intent on shitting on my parade by ripping on how I spent my money in a manner you didn’t like, I think it’s important to consider your position in light of some of your recent life events. As someone who put themself through college, and is now putting themself through law school, I understand how difficult life can be from a financial perspective. HOWEVER, I was never so wanton and reckless with my money (for instance, buying and trying to fix up a supersport, while simultaneously building a high-spec gaming pc) that I was forced to beg strangers on reddit for THEIR hard-earned money so that I didn’t get kicked out of college. If you asked me, I’d say that you have no place making judgements about the price or value of the items I choose to spend money on. Sure, Dainese is comparatively ‘expensive’... but I busted my ass before and after school each day so that I could afford to buy their gear, and even then some of it was used.

Those baseless assertions of yours are built on steaming quagmires of shit.
