Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato, sister of Poot Lovato and creator of drama, started her musical career in 2004 2008 when she starred in the Disney Channel film Camp Rock. “This Is Me”, a duet with former boyfriend Joe Jonas, ended up being her highest charting single to date (#9). Aside from Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2, she has released five albums. Don’t Forget (2008), her debut album, was powerpop-heavy. Here We Go Again (2009), Demi’s first and only #1 album, tapped her into mainstream pop with the lead single of the same title peaking at #15. After directly confronting her struggles with depression, bipolar disorder, alcoholism, and bulimia, she released her empowering signature song “Skyscraper”. Unbroken (2010) hosted Demi’s first radio hit “Give Your Heart a Break”, which was #1 on the radios in early 2012.

After releasing her (fantastic) lead single “Heart Attack”, she released her fourth studio album DEMI. With that album came the moderately successful singles “Neon Lights” and “Really Don’t Care”. After recording the radio version of "Let It Go" for Disney’s Frozen and having a recurring role on Glee, Demi released her fifth studio album Confident in 2015. Confident marked a huge artistic transition for Demi. In this era, she embraced her sexuality—she went from a Kelly Clarkson with less vocal talent to a Katy Perry with vocal talent. She channeled pop puppeteer Max Martin to create the faux-lesbian “Cool for the Summer” and the top 21 hit “Confident”. After “Stone Coldunderperformed, Demi decided to move on to recording her sixth album. Recently, she released a new single “Body Say”, which she is performing on her joint tour with Nick Jonas. Also worth noting is that Demi and Nick created their own record label subsidiary last year; they have only signed Chord Overstreet from Glee as of today.
