Thanks to this subreddit I'm reading everyday.

I set my goal this year at 20. I am currently rebuilding my love for reading after years of not reading any books. I found my biggest problem was that I had the mindset that I had to finish any book I picked up, even if I didn't care for it. Thinking that way hurt me in the long run because I just stopped reading. I used to have a lot more time to myself to force through a book but now that I'm a little older and I have a lot more on my plate it's hard to find the time to myself and focus on reading.

Starting this year along with my book goal I decided that if I don't like a book, rather than struggling to get through it, I will find another one that I like. Reading is becoming a lot more fun now that I am reading material I actually want to read. As a bonus, since the books I am reading are interesting to me, I make time to read. Win win!

To help me organize I set up a hefty want to read list on Goodreads and then I created a list at my local library of the books that they stock off of my GR list. I also keep and "abandoned" list as well so if I need to move on at least I have a reference if I want to revist that book. When I'm getting close to finishing a book I look at my list and request a couple of books off that I'm interested in. I've had to return 3 books since January, but I've finished 6!
