There are currently calls for a "decolonised" curriculum at the University of Cape Town. Watch someone at a discussion meeting with the Science Faculty call for a "reboot" of science

When I see stuff like this I really wish i was there, it hurts to watch this because I have so much to say to these people. That guy shouldn't have said blurted out that their magic is impossible, its obvious how they are gonna take it.

I actually like seeing things like this, lets not forget that science isn't about certainty and its definitely not a sure thing. Our modern theories are there not because we are blindly following what some random person says, but because those theories have withstood everybodys criticism. Science isnt about proving anything, infact the core of science is an awareness that we have wrong ideas, the concepts and ideas we have now are simply the most credible we have found so far.

The girl questioned why we believe in newton and his ideas, well to her i say come up with something better and everyone will believe you. Right now we can and have tested all of his ideas and they all work. You don't believe in the gravity constant, well get a stop watch and drop an apple from 1 meter, you can easily prove these principles.

They obviously don't have much experience with physics or other sciences, so they are making random assumptions that are wildly inaccurate. Science is on their side, science tells us that NOTHING is certain, just what is reliable and hasn't yet been proven wrong.
