Is there a reason why higher tier weapon of the same class (i.e. T5 lazer vs T1 lazer) are actually WORSE than the lower tier?

Hey, I appreciated your input and for sharing the spreadsheet with me. I had a look, numbers are outdated in every sheet unfortunately.

there are other factors, most notably damage per second.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I disagree that dps is the "accurate" way to measure weapons. After all, every weapon is limited by the amount of energy you have. You need to compare apples to apples to see what's better. I.e. the performance of each weapon against the constraint that remains the same. And that's energy.

Plus, as long as you can't END your opponent in 1 single clip (1 full energy bar), then the speed at which you output that damage will never REALLY matter. You still have to wait the same amount of time for it to re-fill. And I find it hard to believe that in a t5-only game anyone can end their enemy with just 1 clip unless they literally afk in the middle of the map and let you aim at whichever part you want.

And another argument why the lower tier weapons are better with their better damage per energy ratio is punishment. Punishment for missing. The punishment when you miss a couple of shots on a lower tier weapon is MUCH lower than if you miss on a higher tier weapon which eats up 99999999 energy. And let's be honest, noone here has 100% accuracy. Yet the lower tier weapon still does more damage per energy anyway.
