Mashima has made different kinds of romances in his previous works. Idk much about Rave master, but I watched FT and continuing the sequel and all Ik is he loves to work with the male and female protagonists(Haru x Elie, Natsu x Lucy and Shiki x Rebecca) though we are yet to be sure about Shiki x Rebecca but seems like he's going for it.

The other parallels between his works RM and FT couples are-

>!Musica x Reina & Gray x Juvia(the males are paired with characters who have somewhat same abilities outside of the main group of protagonists such as- Reina and Juvia.) I think this time it may be Weisz x Hermit but as I said, nothing is sure.

The other couples of FT are- Jellal and Erza, Gajeel and Levy, Mavis and Zeref, Elfman and Evergreen. These have totally different dynamics from the others and as far as Ik many people along with me were surprised at the outcome lol. Zervis(Mavis and Zeref) is about a cursed girl and a cursed boy. Zeref tried to bend the rules of life and death and got cursed by God Ankhselam and Mavis got the same curse as him because she saved his friend using a black magic spell which saved her friend but due to it, she got the curse. They fell in love with each other and all lol. Jerza(Jellal and Erza) is about childhood friends to enemies to friends to lovers dynamic with clear view of feelings for each other. Gajevy(Gajeel and Levy) is about Gajeel beating the shit out of Levy but when he's given a 2nd chance, he falls in love with her and vice versa. Gajeel showed tremendous development after he joined Fairy Tail. It is quite good. Elfgreen/Elfever(Elfman and Evergreen) This 2 were paired during a trial and faced a very strong opponent and came to care for each other which later turned into romantic relationship later. So I think Hiro is pretty good with different dynamics. You can give FT a chance again like everyone gave Gajeel lol.!<
