Those who work 8:00-16:30, don't take work home & are Humanities/English teachers - how do you do it?

I said no to doing an intervention class on a week that I was teaching 24/25 lessons, had a parents' evening for 3x Y10 classes (which was back to back 4-730 and couldn't fit them all in so days of follow up calls and emails that week) and a data drop for all 11 classes I teach. I was told I would need to do this on Wednesday afternoon, in an email that was sent Tuesday morning. I said that I would be unable to do this. Got another email saying it was part of my appraisal. I replied that I was more than willing to do it but would not be able to facilitate this at such short notice, what would they then like me to delay so that I can prioritise intervention? Got a warning.
