Thought on Phil now that draft is over?

Good:

Galloway, lopez, kuz, hernangomez, porzingis Thank god we only got the fourth pick so PJ picked KP over okafor

Koq for only 16 mil over 4 years

Aging pablo prigioni for 2 seconds

Whatever:

Rambis: was interim, sucked, but nothing he could do after firing fisher, which was probably right move (despite apparently catching porzingis by surprise and upsetting him)

Firing woodson: we underperformed from year before, woodson blew a lot of games-that hasn’t really changed since then None of moves

Signings outside of noah in general have been fine, but not great. Obviously no team ever panned out to make the playoffs, but lopez, affalo, jennings, williams, smith were all good value contracts.

Hardaway for grant

Rose trade

Grant pick

Melo re-signing

Getting wroten and odom, who had such shit attitudes they never made any active roster. But good on him for waiving them pretty quickly

Bad:

fisher: like way he was hired, fisher was given a ton of money over the course of five years despite being unproven

chandler/felton trade: not one player from picks or anything is still on the roster or on any in nba jr/shumpert trade: thomas one player still on roster from picks or anything, calderon is still maybe the only other still in nba. Not getting one first rounder, even a shit one, is crazy considering guys like mozgov got 2 firsts a bit later. Those guys were the best role players on that team, and chandler became a big role player for the rondo mavs that failed, and jr started on a championship team and shumpert helped a bit

Not one second rounder has panned out

Gave melo one of three ntc’s in NBA HISTORY only to constantly + publicly talk about how he should remove it

Telling lin they weren’t interested when their starting pg was jose calderon. Lin ended up signing with the hornets for 2mil, knicks gave 2.8 to kevin seraphin who blew, and probably held back koq his first year

Shit with undermining hornacek and triangle

Rose’s rape trial and missing a game

Not liking three pointers despite them being a big part of today’s nba

Player relationships: justified or not, players have been unhappy with him, and according to guys like lowe new york is even more undesirable to FA’s. What Phil has said was never too bad, but the truth is him going from never talking throughout the season to being too honest at the end of the season hurts the teams.

Only players to play under him that we’ve retained was Lance thomas, vujacic, and amundson

Allegedly talking through rosen/cryptic tweets/saying KP might be like shawn bradley, talking crap about larkin and guys after leaving

Not winning 33 games or more once, despite trying to win games

Remains to be seen:

This years picks, hornacek hiring
