Thoughts about the overall themes of The Rehearsal: Season 1

I think this show was ultimately about Nathan’s fascination with feeling. Perhaps his inability to have the same feelings as other people. Just my interpretation but — Kor had an intimate, hours long conversation after overcoming his anxiety about how his friend would feel towards him. Angela’s strong beliefs / convictions were explored to uncomfortable ends. How did they make other people feel? The lady from the synagogue felt so strongly she couldn’t talk to Angela. Angela felt so strongly about her vision she could no longer go along with her rehearsal. The show’s real impact on Remy’s feelings ended up driving the narrative even more meta — to how the director himself felt, who in the end broke script with his child actor and felt something — regret? realization? paternal love? something else? — as his eyes welled up, the music credits etc
