Riverbend sucks, even worse IMO now that they're trying to get hip. I thought it was cooler when they booked uncool dad rock like Blue Oyster Cult, your taste may be different. I dont really care for any local Chattanooga bands (not into metalcore or indie folk stuff) and most bands I wanna see play Atlanta or Nashville so I end up going there for most shows.

We do get a handful of cool shows a year, but a lot of bands dont come back either due to poor attendance or just general lack of professionalism at local venues like Ziggys.

Some shows I saw in the past few years in Chattanooga were the doom band Pentagram, the death metal band Demilich, the funk group Parliament/Funkadelic, the prog metal band Dream Theater. Stuff like that is always a treat to have in your backyard, but none of these groups decided to come back lol. I've talked to international touring artists after shows and they have all had some complaint about Chattanooga venues or audiences.
