TIME article about the situation, featuring a very flattering picture of Ethan and Hila

'He describes the new account as something like a “YouTubers’ union” in Wednesday’s video. “This is like a new chapter for fair use on YouTube,” Klein says.'

I spoke to Ethan about creating a legit 'Union for content creators' (to protect legal rights for content creators with relation to fair use etc) I think this was during the Prankinvasion: fair use nonsense days.

I'm incredibly happy to see this mentioned now in this way (In TIME magazine... That goes without saying how insanely proud I am to see Ethan and Hila representing in this way overall as they have done since this first kicked off: Prankinvasion or SoFlo... which came first?... anyway...) and- even if this is totally unfair/ undeserved- I feel a little pride in the fact that I maybe helped inspire this phrase/ idea.

I did look for the old messages just to provide proof, but I can't find them/ remember what account/ what platform they were sent on, but Papa could confirm this if he wanted. The story is that I was going to actually legally set up a company/ charity that became a sort of union ('Assosciation for online content creators') and we had a little chat about how that might be possible and whether it'd have to be many seperate unions for each territory/ set of rules or whether we could do it intrnationally... That was me begging for some sort of collab... I offered Ethan the North American position xD (No homo). Anyway... yeah.

I'm really happy about this whole situation/ backlash against fair use and I've been going mental about this for ages. I'm tagged as 'fair use maniac' in a few subs on here for my relentless copyright abuse shaming.

I'd call myself a copyright crusader, but I don't want to end up on cringeanarchy... shiiiiiiiii
