Today I cried in front of my class

The problem I see on this subreddit is a lot of Teachers are blaming themselves for nature. I also find a lot of schools are still into the Teacher-centered classroom and this simply isn't the classroom the youngest generations want anymore. The classroom of the future is going to be flipped, student-centered and people will bounce ideas off each other.

I can refer to a long list of citations about cognitive development and executive function (and lack thereof) which explains why it's these teenagers and not the teacher. The only countries where you see well-behaved kids all the time are usually countries with extreme punitive punishment, like Singapore or the South African school system which will heavily fine families for their kids' misbehaviour.

In North America and Britain, there is simply a problem with everyone blaming the Teacher for everything and it simply isn't so.

In my personal philosophy of education - I had ultimately gone student-centered because A) I shouldn't be prepping for 8 hours a day when I working 6 hours a day (I can't recall the last time I had a full lunch without students or ec activities) and B) students always want to rebel against teacher-centered classrooms. C) Kids are just chatty and you would find adult graduate and masters' students are no different.
