[U.S] The Time in Between/El Tiempo Entre Costuras Beautiful, breathtaking, surprisingly compelling Spanish series (17 episodes) Part cheesy lush romance, part coming of age, part tense spy WWII thriller

Okay, this isn't for everyone. If you have taste like my boyfriend's for example, and you despise period dramas, this isn't for you. But don't judge this too harshly beforehand! It is so good, and so satisfying.

At times, in the beginning, the music was far too..sweeping, and made everything really dramatic and corny (okay, you kind of just have to accept, that is the way this show is, it has sweeping classical music, and is at times over-the-top and after a little bit it becomes rather charming instead of offputting...at least for me it did. It definitely becomes far more well-rounded as the show goes on, with a lot of tense, interesting things happening.) But if you see it through a young woman's eyes, it makes sense. She is experiencing everything so intensely, you are experiencing her life with her.

AND HOLY CHRIST: the main actress is so stunning, and I fell in love with her (I'm a straight woman but holy hell, this woman.) even when her acting isn't..precisely on point, she is just so earnest, and genuine, and assured in her actions, she is amazing to watch. She carried this whole thing.

I watched this on a complete whim, and I'm really glad I did. I don't see many people talking about it so I thought I would post this here, hopefully someone will like it :)

If you can let yourself get carried away by it, the over-the-top romance in parts will go amazing places haha

There were so many episodes that forced me to just devour the next one and the next one until I finished it so quickly, and I felt I had watched an entire lifetime of this one woman...It is a really wonderful story, and the spy/thriller stuff is up there with all of my all-time favorite shows

Warning: It is very very unabashedly feminine, she is a seamstress so there is a lot of ..kind of..beautiful costumes and...all the shots/locations are impeccable and gorgeous. If you are attracted to very masculine, strictly thriller type of things, this isn't for you.

Also: I'm being vague about a lot of it because I don't like to spoil things, I went into it completely blind and it was a great experience (that is how I prefer going into most shows/movies), watching this girl's life unfold in crazy ways...I highly recommend this obviously...I will stop ranting about it now
