‘Uber For Weed’ App Has Raised Over $10 MILLION On It’s Startup Campaign - Backed By Snoop Dogg

Just to clarify, there are a few reasons I feel the way I do. The Bay Area is a unique place in that the City (SF), has become a bourgeoius crap-hole of techies, executives, the well-to-do while the surrounding Bay Area cities are still 'authentic', struggling places. I work in Oakland, and I'd say 80% of the patients that come into our dispensary are minority, probably 90% of our patients are in the lower socioeconomic bracket. That's probably the main demographic of most East Bay dispensaries, and they all pull in millions of dollars a year. I couldn't see any of our patients adopting a mobile platform like Eaze; part of why people come in is because all of us work really hard to create friendly environments that feel like a community space. People come in everyday, us Budtenders recognize them, greet them, ask about their lives, get them some nice stuff, and send them on their way happy. The only people who WANT to transition their entire lives to a SmartPhone are the 1% techies in SF, and I sit here over in the real world while those guys give themselves millions of dollars to solve problems that are exclusive to them. I very much see Eaze as a part of that: if you live in the suburbs somewhere, and there are no dispensaries around you (I'm looking at you, CO), and you already only order your weed delivery, then okay, there's a place for that I guess (as all you internet defenders have stated). If you live in the Bay Area: get off your goddamn ass and walk two blocks to the dispensary that is inevitably there because that dispensary is probably working hard to be a place you want to go. If they really wanted to 'disrupt' the system, they'd figure out a way to connect growers to patients directly, without all the middlemen. If you're just creating another middleman, when it's already SO EASY to just go to a dispensary, when there are already a million other middle-men out there....I can't get behind that. It's about you and me smoking the best medicine, first. It's not about someone having a good business idea and making money off it. Plus, if you look at Uber The Business....who the fuck thinks the world needs another one of those things? Definitely don't need some Travis Kalanick figure trying to fuck over ppl in the medical community.
