Okay so i have found the only time cross chop is useful is if you’re aligned with scrafty or cobalion you can get chip damage, but that’s legit the only time, and you still hard lose. Goon picks up way more matchups with the buff/debuff and against things that are weak to cross chop its wins are much more dominant with using obstruct. Some examples: gfisk is a loss in the 0 with CC, but can win down 2 shields to 0 with obstruct, you can win the 1s against regi with obstruct but without it you can’t (you actually always beat regi as long as you have one shield), you pick up cress in the 1s and 0s if you boost on a night slash, walrein (which isn’t as dominant as last season) you can beat down 2 shields, trevenant is much more dominant, and all neutral matchups are pretty much always wins like swampert for example. The reason a lot of people complain about it is the damage, but mostly it’s not utilized correctly and it kinda takes a bit of getting used to. Last season, I had 1 shield and a goon with a full health s-walrus and trev with 2 shields and was able to take out both. Scrafty for example can barely take out a trevenant easily.
