Megathread Impeachment Continued (Part 2)

> Congress doesn't handle crime.

And here is the utter incoherence of conservatives defense of Trump.

Out of one side of their mouth they are arguing "Trump didn't even commit a crime, how can we expect he should be removed if there's no crime?!?!"

And then also when convenient "impeachment is a political process" when called out on the fact that GOP senators SWORE AN OATH to do impartial justice whilst simultaneously saying on live TV they are not impartial and are coordinating with Trump.

> The issue you have is that the US justice department won't arrest their boss.

More incoherence.

GOP's arguments about Trump administration crimes is thus:

The DOJ Cannot indict a sitting president.

"Courts decide crimes"

except the president cannot be indicted.

"well it's congresses job to conduct oversight!"

Then Trump and the GOP argue in court that congress should have no ability to subpoena Trump administration documents even during impeachment

"impeachment is a political process"

Effectively the GOP is fully on board with Nixon's famous pronouncement that "I"m saying if the president does it, it's not illegal!"
